EU satisfied over voting of prior actions omnibus bill in Greek parliament

The European Commission on Wednesday expressed its satisfaction over the voting by the Greek Parliament of the omnibus bill containing the prior actions necessary for the conclusion of the third programme review.

“The Commission welcomes that voting of the reform package by the Greek parliament,” said Johannes Bahrke, spokesman for European Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici, noting that the Commission is examining and evaluating the adopted legislation and the overall progress in the implementation of prior actions agreed between Greece and the institutions. He also said that the relevant report will be ready on time and will be tabled at the Eurogroup’s meeting on January 22.

“The Commission trusts in the commitment of all involved parties that they will work constructively with the aim of completing the prior actions, and therefore the conclusion of the third review, as soon as possible, following the staff level agreement reached in December,” Bahrke said.
