Eurobank sells Ukrainian unit PJSC Universal Bank

Eurobank said on Monday it had agreed with entities of the Ukrainian Delta Bank Group for the disposal of its Ukrainian subsidiary “PJSC Universal Bank” and the transfer of Ukrainian assets for a total consideration of 95 million euros.

“The transaction, which will have negative impact of approximately 5 basis points on Eurobank’s Common Equity Tier 1 ratio, is expected to close within 2014 and is subject to customary conditions for this type of transactions and the necessary approvals by the competent authorities,” according to the announcement.

VTB Capital acted as the financial advisor and Baker & McKenzie – CIS, Limited as the legal advisor to Eurobank on this transaction, it added.
