EuroParliament MEPs monitoring Greek programme visiting Athens on Monday, Tuesday

A large delegation of MEPs from the European Parliament’s Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committee, which is responsible for monitoring the Greek programme, are expected in Athens on Monday and Tuesday for meetings with the Greek government at the highest political level.

The MEPs will be received by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis and they will visit the Greek Parliament, meeting government members and representatives of the social partners.

Included in the delegation are Greek MEP and EP Vice-President Dimitris Papadimoulis, MEP Eva Kaili and MEP Giorgos Kyrtsos.

Once the mission completes its work, ECON Committee Chairman Roberto Gualtieri will hold a press conference at 13:45 on Tuesday, at the European Parliament’s Office in Greece.
