European Central Bank’ lowers ELA ceiling for Greek banks

European Central Bank’s governing council on February 1, 2017 approved a request by the Bank of Greece to lower an ELA-ceiling for Greek banks of 46.3 billion euros, up to and including Wednesday, 15 February 2017.

The reduction of 0.2 billion euros in the ceiling reflects an improvement of the liquidity situation of Greek banks, amid a reduction of uncertainty and the stabilization of private sector deposits flows.
