European Parliament delegation to visit Greece on May 7-9

A delegation from the European Parliament’s transport and tourism committee is to visit Greece on May 7-9, in line with a proposal made by Greek MEP Miltos Kyrkou of the Potami party. The aim of the visit, during which the committee members will meet government officials and visit state agencies, is to promote the financing of Greek regional infrastructure for tourism at a crucial time when the new European budget is being discussed.

During the meeting a conference on “Access and connectibility of transport” will be held on May 8 in Arta, with ministers and local government officials attending, to discuss the major developments and challenges for the Greek transport sector and the EU’s role.

On May 9, the delegation of MEPs will meet Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura.
