Far rigth party Golden Dawn out of next Greek parliament

Far-right Golden Dawn did not manage to get into the parliament that will be formed after the 2019 general elections in Greece. This showed the ultra-right party had failed to surpass the 3 pct minimum threshhold, reaching a percentage of 2.96 with.

Golden Dawn fared far worse than in the elections in September 2015 when it got 6.99 pct of the total vote and 18 seats in parliament.

Golden Dawn also faces potential legal problems. A trial at which one member is accused of murdering an activist musician in September 2013 and several prominent party officials, including Mihaloliakos, face charges of operating a criminal organization is wrapping up and any convictions would hit the party hard.
