Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos will attend the informal Eurogroup/Ecofin meeting opening in Sofia on Friday morning.
Bulgarian Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov, whose country holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the EU, will host the two-day informal meeting finance and economy ministers at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The day will start with a Eurogroup meeting. After that, during the first session of the informal meeting, the ministers of finance and economy and the central bankers of the EU will discuss the convergence policy inside and outside the Euro area, as well as the further reduction of fragmentation within the Capital Markets Union.
The second day of the meeting will be devoted to improving revenue collection and fighting tax fraud in the single market, as well as to corporate taxation and the taxation of the digital economy.
Before the Eurogroup meeting early on Friday morning, Tsakalotos will participate in a discussion on “Deepening the EMU: What Next”, in the framework of the Eurofi High Level Seminar, organised jointly with the Bulgarian presidency of the Council.
