FinMin rejects reports alleging agreement for 130,000 auctions

The Greek Finance ministry on Tuesday strongly rejected press reports alleging that the government has reached an agreement with its creditors to complete 130,000 auctions in the next four years.

Finance ministry sources said that the compliance report on the third review was the information material for Eurozone member-states to reach a decision and not the text of the agreement.

They noted that Eurogroup’s meeting on Monday decided to conclude the third review of the Greek programme without making any specific mention to any number of auctions in a statement issued after the meeting. They stressed that in the official texts of the agreement (SMoU and TMU), including the country’s commitments for the next -and final- review of the Greek programme, there was no mention of any number of auctions.
