FinMin Tsakalotos and Energy Min Stathakis meet with banks over ADMIE sale

The actions needed to ensure the timely conclusion of the privatisation of the country’s power grid operator ADMIE were discussed in a meeting between Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, Environment and Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis and the management of Greece’s four biggest lenders, the finance ministry said.

According to the ministry, specific actions were agreed which, after the necessary technical and legal processing, fully ensure the timely completion of the process.

Sources from the environment ministry gave assurances that ADMIE’s split from power utility PPC will be completed according to plan and that remaining technical details will be resolved imminently so that PPC shareholders can approve the transfer of the 51 percent stake on their meeting next Tuesday.
