The government will “negotiate vigorously” with Greece’s lenders during the second program review, said Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos during a speech at SYRIZA’s party conference on Friday.
“We will negotiate vigorously because we know where we stand and who we want to help,” the minister told party members and officials that included Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
“The memorandum may be ours, but our slogan must be that every obstacle is an opportunity. They imposed the [privatization] fund on us. We have ideas to restructure the state’s assets. We have ideas to save businesses. We must not laways say others are to blame. We must discuss so that we can say we have a strategy for water and electricity [utilities],” he added.
