Fire near Marathon heliport; no threat to homes so far

A strong fire-fighting force was deployed to put out a fire that started bear the heliport in Marathon on Monday. According to the fire brigade, the flames currently pose no threat to houses in the surrounding region.

Thirty-eight fire fighters with 17 fire engines, three helicopters and two fire-fighting aircraft are taking part in the effort to put out the blaze, which is hampered by strong winds blowing in the area.
