FM Kotzias expresses concern over Turkey’s military intervention in Syria

Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias referred to Turkey’s military intervention in Syria, at the EU Foreign Affairs meeting held in Brussels on Wednesday.

According to diplomatic sources, he underlined that “Turkey’s intervention in Syria bears new problems for the Middle East and international law” and explained that “we are also worried over its repercussions on unresolved regional issues such as the Cyprus issue. We are therefore reiterating our position that we will support whatever new initiative arises for a fair solution”.

Moreover, in his statements to the press after the end of the meeting in Brussels, Kotzias referred to the relation between international law and events in northwestern Syria.
