Foreign investors raised market share in the Athens Stock Exchange in April

Foreign investors raised their participation in the capitalization of the Athens Stock Exchange in April to 64.5 pct from 63.9 pct the previous month (including the participation of Hellenic Financial Stability Fund), while excluding the participation of HFSF this percentage was 67.5 pct in April form 66.4 pct in March. Their participation was 60.9 pct and 63.9 pct in April 2017, respectively.

Foreign investors were net buyers with capital inflows of 68.04 billion euros in April, while they accounted for 57 pct of market transactions (down from 58.4 pct in March but up from 53.6 pct in April last year). The value of transactions was 1,105 million euros in April, down 28.5 pct from March but up 37.2 pct from April 2017. Average daily turnover was 61.42 million euros, down from 73.65 million in March but up from 44.78 million in April last year.

The number of active investor codes fell to 16,945 in April from 21,520 in March but rose compared with 13,967 in April 2017. The market’s capitalization was 47.82 billion euros at the end of April, from 43.33 billion a month earlier. It was 39.93 billion euros in April 2017.
