Foreign investors slightly raised their participation in the capitalization of the Greek stock market to 63.7 pct in January (including the participation of Hellenic Financial Stability Fund), from 63.5 pct in December, and to 66.5 pct (excluding the participation of HFSF) from 66.4 pct in the same months, respectively, according to data on Tuesday.
Greek investors held 36.3 pct of the market’s capitalization at the end of January. Foreign investors were net sellers with capital outflows of 3.32 million euros and accounted for 50.9 pct of market transactions in the month, down from 64.3 pct in December and 53.2 pct in January 2017.
The value of transactions totaled 1.681 billion euros in January, up 24.3 pct from December and up a spectacular 100.5 pct compared with January 2017. Average daily transactions was 76.43 million euros, up from 71.17 million in December and 39.93 million in January last year.
The number of active investor codes was 21,767 in January from 16,965 in December. The market’s capitalization was 48.80 billion euros at the end of January, up from 43.54 billion in December 2017 (an increase of 12.1 pct) and up 35.5 pct from January 2017.
