Foreign investors slightly raised participation in ASE in March

Foreign investors slightly raised their participation in the capitalization of the Athens Stock Exchange in March, to 63.9 pct including the participation of Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) fro 63.6 pct in February (excluding the participation of HFSF their participation in the market was 66.4 pct unchanged from the previous month). Foreign investors’ participation was 59.1 pct and 61.6 pct, respectively in March 2017.

Greek investors held 36 pct of the market’s capitalization in March from 36.3 pct in February, while foreign investors accounted for 58.4 pct of market transactions (up from 53.6 pct in February and 49.4 pct in March 2017).

March turnover was 1,546,73 million euros, up 25.1 pct from February and up 62.3 pct from March last year. Average daily turnover was 73.65 million euros in March, up from 65.05 million in February and 41.43 million in March 2017. The number of active member codes was 21,520 in March, from 18,694 in February and 23,159 in March last year. The market’s capitalization was 43.33 billion euros, down from 46.52 billion in February but up 11.7 pct from March 2017 (38.79 billion).
