Foreign national arrested in Athens with detonators in his rucksack

Counter-terrorism squad arrested late Saturday a foreign national, possibly from Afghanistan, in central Athens.

In his possession police found seven electric and electronic detonators and several identity cards which are probably fake.

The foreign national was wandering as homeless and was holding a rucksack in which were the detonators.

Police are conducting an investigation to find out his real name and the role he is playing.

According to initial information the suspect did not have a permanent residence and stayed with other foreign nationals in several different apartments.
