Foreign nationals arrested on Crete after showing fake travel documents

Six foreign nationals were arrested at Heraklion airport in Crete when they attempted to travel using fake documents.

The five men, aged 21 to 37 years old, respectively, and a 29-year old woman (three Afghans, two Iraqis and an Iranian) were stopped by police officers at Nikos Kazantzakis airport when the woman, who was accompanying her two children, presented fake Austrian travel documents to the police officers.

Theh five men showed fake Korean, Belgian and Albanian travel documents in order to travel to Germany.

The fake documents were confiscated and the suspects were sent to a Heraklion prosecutor.
