The police of Orestiada, near the borders with Turkey, arrested four people for trying to export over 72 kilos of cannabis to Turkey.
According to police, a Greek national (aged 34) and three foreign nationals (46, 33, 24) were collaborating with Albanians and Greeks to transport the cannabis from Albania to Turkey. Two of them were driving the car and expected to hand the drug to the other two in Turkey, before they were arrested at the Kastanies border station.
Police confiscated the cannabis, two cars, eight mobile phones, 975 euros and 600 Albanian lek.
All four were led before the prosecutor of Orestiada, while a fifth person, aged 22, is being sought as an accomplice.
