Fourlis Group reported an 1.2 pct decline in sales in the first half of the year to 191.3 million euros, from 193.7 million in the same period in 2016, while losses after tax and minorities eased to 2.1 million euros from a loss of 3.3 million last year.
IKEA sales totaled 124.7 million euros in the first half, down 2.3 pct compared with the same period last year (127.6 million). Sales in Greece fell 6.9 pct, but rose 7.9 pct in other countries. EBITDA was 7.3 million euros, down from 7.9 million in 2016 and pre-tax losses eased to 1.3 million from a loss of 3.5 million euros last year. Fourlis Group operates seven IKEA stores, five in Greece, one in Cyprus and one in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Intersport sales grew 1.1 pct to 66.6 million euros, with sales in Greece rising 0.3 pct (international sales rose 1.9 pct). EBITDA fell to 4.3 million euros in the first half from 5.2 million last year, while pre-tax losses eased to 0.5 million euros from 0.8 million in 2016. Fourlis Group operates 124 Intersport stores (50 in Greece, 30 in Romania, 22 in Turkey, seven in Bulgaria and four in Cyprus) and 11 Athlete’s Foot (10 in Greece and one in Turkey).
