Οpposition Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi Gennimata, addressing parliament on Wednesday regarding the bill on the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP), said that she will not consent to the weakening and undermining of this historic reform carried out by the progressive democratic party, which acts as a guarantor of the institutions, adding that the draft bill serves only the ruling party’s cronyist aims and KINAL will vote against it.
Gennimata said that ruling New Democracy’s reform agenda ranges from negative to non-existent, adding that reform is not to violate every good legislative practice and to humiliate parliament, or an authoritarian and arrogant approach.
“Reforms are not the core of your policy,” she said. “If you wanted a real dialogue to improve the procedures we would be the first to accept. But you don’t want it, you can’t take it. You are afraid of it, as you are of all progressive reforms,” she said.
