Government policy and Europe discussed in SYRIZA’s political secretariat meeting

Government policy, its European strategy and developments in Europe and the world were discussed at a meeting of SYRIZA’s political secretariat on Tuesday, chaired by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, ahead of the party’s central committee meeting next weekend.

According to government sources, the program review was not discussed extensively as the party and the government’s positions haven’t changed. Tsipras reiterated the government’s aim to complete the review and include Greece in the European Central Bank’s quantitative easing program. He also noted the need to deepen the government’s social policy and produce significant reforms in labour, health and education.

Tsipras also said the government will bring up again the issue of constitutional review after the completion of the program review.
