The government will achieve the targets for the budget this year, Alternate Finance Ministry Katerina Papanatsiou told parliament on Monday, responsing to a question tabled by New Democracy MP Kostas Katsafados.
Katsafados expressed his concern for the implementation of the state budget, noting a deviation of 2.3 billion euros in the data for January to September.
“We will achieve the target again. For a third year. Every time we have new data, alarmism begins,” she said, adding the deviation in the data is not the result of a revenue shortfall and does not create a problem in the budget, as it is a “cash problem” relating to payments of arrears and not the budget.
