Gov’t spokesman Tzanakopoulos: Conclusion of second review without additional austerity

“Conclusion of the second review as soon as possible and without additional austerity” is the government’s position reiterated State Minister and government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos in an interview with the Sunday newspaper Real News.

At the same time Tzanakopoulos indicated IMF as responsible for the delay “The problem is that the Fund does not accept the European institutions’ forecast for zero fiscal gap in 2019. If this issue is solved by Monday then it will pave the way for the conclusion, at technical level, of all the pending issues of the second review. This is the Greek government’s aim for the imminent Eurogroup meeting in order to safeguard Greece’s inclusion in the quantitative easing programme that will establish the stability of the Greek economy” he said.
