For the first time in many years, Greece is on track to overcome the difficulties it has been facing, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras told former Argentine president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, welcoming her at his office in parliament.
“I must tell you we watch closely developments in Latin America. We Greeks, although we are many miles away from your country, we feel we have a similar mentality. And we experienced closely your adversities and achievements,” he said.
“My country is also going through difficult days in the past seven years, but we are on a path to overcome the difficulties for the first time after a long time,” he added.
On her side, Kirchner noted Greece’s contribution to civilization, and not just western, adding the ideas about democracy and the organization of the West are based on the history of Greece.
