Greece is protecting its borders in the Aegean and Evros, Varvitsiotis says

Alternate Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis spoke about the Greek government’s decisive stance against Turkey’s efforts to instrumentalise refugees and migrants in Evros and the Aegean, in an interview with Open TV earlier on Monday.

In particular, Varvitsiotis stressed that both the army and the police in Evros, as well as the Coast Guard and the Navy, are fighting daily to defend Greece’s borders and prevent the entry of irregular migrants, both for national security reasons and to protect public health against coronavirus.

“Greece has borders and it protects them,” Varvitsiotis underlined, adding that this applies both to Evros and the Aegean.
