Greece launches online service for certificates of health

The government on Thursday unveiled a new online service offered by the online social insurance platform IDIKA for the electronic issue of certificates of health needed to join gyms, swimming pools and for use in other activities.
The new service was presented by Digital Governance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis, Health Minister Thanos Plevris, Deputy Digital Governance Minister Giorgos Georgantas and the President of IDIKA, Niki Tsouma.

The certificates must be issued by each person’s doctor, who will upload the individual’s AMKA in the “Medical Certificates” services, select the type wanted, and finally select one of the standard texts available.

The certificate will be issued automatically and be available from the myHealth app, or if digital prescriptions are activated, it will also be sent in the form of a barcode as an SMS or in PDF form to the individual’s e-mail. If there e-prescriptions are not activated, the certificate can be printed by the doctor.

The validity of the certificates can then be verified via the site using taxisnet codes, by entering
the barcode and other details.

They remain valid for one year after the date of issue.
