Greece registered 1,190 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours of which 17 were identified at entry points to the country, the National Public Health Organization (EODY) said on Wednesday.
Total registered cases of the novel coronavirus in Greece stand at 127,557 since the start of the pandemic, of which 5,163 are linked to travel abroad and 36,669 to already known cases.
Meanwhile, 552 patients are currently on ventilators in hospitals. Their median age is 67, a 77.9 pct of them has an underlying condition or is 70 years old or more, and 162 are women.
Another 768 have been discharged from intensive care units since the start of the pandemic.
In addition, EODY said that 85 people died in the last 24 hours, bringing the total of deceased to 3,870. Their median age was 79 years, 95.6 pct had an underlying condition and/or were aged 70 or more, and 1,556 were women.
