Greece registers 269 new coronavirus infections, 4 deaths

Greece officially confirmed another 269 novel coronavirus infections on Monday, with 23 of them related to known clusters and another 11 identified at entry points to Greece.

Total infections since the coronavirus pandemic broke out in Greece in late February have reached 17,707. Of these, 2,837 are linked to travel abroad and 7,349 to already known infection cases.

Some 73 patients in hospitals have been intubated. Their median age is 69 years, 87.7 pct have an underlying condition or are 70 years old or older, and 17 of them are women.

A total of 201 people have been discharged from ICUs so far.

In addition, there are 4 more registered deaths, bringing Greece’s fatalities to the coronavirus to 383. Of these, 142 were women and the median age for both sexes was 78 years. Also, 96.6 pct had an underlying disorder and/or were aged 70 or more.

Of the new 269 cases, 197 belong to the Attica region, 12 in Ioannina region, and 4 in Thessaloniki.
