Greece reports 438 new coronavirus cases, 11 deaths on Monday; 85 in ICUs

Greece reported 438 new confirmed novel coronavirus infections on Monday, with 62 people linked to known clusters and 42 detected at the country’s entry points.

The National Public Health Organization announced that all cases since the pandemic arrived in Greece in late February total 25,802 of whom 3,560 are believed to be related to travel abroad and 10,337 to previously known cases.

A total of 85 people are intubated. Their median age is 66 years, 94.1 pct have an underlying condition or are aged 70 or more, and 26 of them are women.

Another 258 patients have been discharged from ICUs since the pandemic broke out in Greece.
In addition, another 11 deaths were reported on Monday, which raises the total number of fatalities to 520, of whom 197 were women. The median age of the deceased was 79 years, and 96.2 pct had an underlying condition and/or were at least 70 years old.

In the geographical distribution breakdown, Attica Region concentrations went up to 175. The higher confirmed cases for Monday are accounted for by rises in other regions, such as Thessaloniki (49), Serres (28) and Kozani (21). Another 19 cases are being traced.
