Greece, Romania, Bulgaria sign deal on energy regulation

The power regulators of Greece, Bulgaria and Romania signed a trilateral cooperation agreement in Athens last Friday (May 26), as part of the completion of the EU’s third energy package that contains the latest legislation for completing the internal energy market.

The agreement was signed by the presidents of Greece’s RAE Dr Nikolaos Boulaxis, Romania’s Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) Niculae Havrilet, and Bulgaria’s Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) Ivan Ivanov.

The three presidents said their closer cooperation is essential as their respective countries are neighbours and EU member-states which face the same challenges of ensuring energy supply, and as part of the exchange of know-how and experiences on issues that each Authority has tackled successfully.
