Greece successfully sells six-month Treasury bills at significantly lower cost

Greece on Wednesday successfully auctioned a six-month Treasury bills issue raising 812.5 million euros from the market at a lower cost. The interest rate of the issues fell significantly to 1.13 pct from 1.65 pct in the previous auction of same issue last month, confirming a positive climate prevailing in capital markets for the Greek economy. Bids submitted totaled 1.4 billion euros, 2.24 times more than the auctioned sum.

Greece plans to return to international capital markets soon.
