Greece will participate in the 37th International Paris Book Fair which will be held from the 24 to the 27th of March, with Morocco as the country of honour for the first time.
More than 50 countries are expected to participate in the Fair that brings together publishers, French and international authors and more than 150,000 readers each year. The organization of the Greek delegation has been assigned to the Hellenic Foundation for Culture, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and in cooperation with the Greek bookshop “Desmos”, based in Paris.
The Greek kiosk will showcase over 100 titles of Greek books which have been published in France, while a talk has been scheduled on Saturday (March 25) titled “Greek literature in the years of the crisis”. Writers Rea Galanaki and Yiannis Tsirbas, who have captured with their pen the reality of the crisis, will discuss with translators Loic Marcou and Michel Volkovitch. Publisher and magazine director of “Desmos”, Yiannis Mavroidakos, and literary agent Katerina Frangou will participate in the conversation.
