Greece urgently needs a new pension system, Theodorakis says in May Day message

Greece urgently needs a new pension system that is primarily focused on the younger generations, opposition Potami party leader Stavros Theodorakis said on Monday, in a Facebook post regarding the May Day holiday.

“There should be but one demand: A new state insurance system that will extricate Greece from the crisis,” he said, noting that Potami had dared to make such a proposal with its “multiple pillars system” where others had not.

“The SYRIZA-ANEL’s are happy to plunder the productive classes for the benefit of their “clients”. The older parties, in whose hands the state insurance system collapsed, are once again handing out promises to everyone…the feature shared by present-day ministers and many of their predecessors, in any case, is that they protested together to prevent the Yiannitsis pension reform from passing,” Theodorakis said.
