Greece will tap the markets with the best possible conditions, Xydakis says

“There is a climate in favour of Greece. The international climate shows that Greece is beginning to find its stability and self-confidence,” SYRIZA parliamentary spokesman Nikos Xydakis said on Monday in an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency’s radio station Praktoreio “104.9 FM”.

“It may be a favorable environment to tap the markets and refinance a part of the expensive debt. We have debts to the IMF with an interest rate of around 5 pct and we hope that the interest rate we get will be considerably lower so that we can refinance this debt with cheaper money,” Xydakis said, adding that Greece will tap the markets “on the best possible terms.”
