Greece’s general government debt reached 314.897 billion euros in 2016, finance ministry reports

The general government debt in Greece came to 314.897 billion euros in 2016, according to the annual finance ministry bulletin on the progression of public debt and state borrowing issued on Thursday.

The central government debt (not including social insurance funds and local authorities) reached 326.358 billion euros on December 31, 2016 – up from 321.332 billion euros at the end of 2015. The average maturity of the new debt added in 2016 was 13.1 years at an average cost of 2.03 pct (not including repos).
