Greece’s Supreme Court clears the way for Russian national’s extradition to the US

The Supreme Court of Greece decided on Wednesday on the extradition of Russian national Alexander Vinnik to the United States following a request by authorities there who suspect him of laundering 4 billion dollars through a bitcoin platform.

Vinnik, 38, who also has another extradition order pending from Russia, was arrested and initially tried in a Thessaloniki court.

After exhausting all appeals, he will now await the decision of Justice Minister Stavros Kontonis, who has to sign off on the court’s decision.
