Greek authorities give green light to 300-mln-euro energy project by Mytilineos

Greece’s Energy Regulatory Authority issued a production license for a new electrical power unit of 665 MW by Mytilineos Group to be built in the group’s energy center in Aghios Nikolaos, Viotia. The project needs approval of environmental terms and an installation license within the next 12 months in order for the unit to be operational in early 2022.

The project is budgeted at more than 300 million euros and will be completed by EPC-METKA. The power station will use class H turbine technology, with a thermal performance of more than 63 pct, the highest in Europe. The station will have the lowest cost of all electrical power units in Greece. The production license has a duration of 35 years.
