Greek banks will pass the stress tests, National Bank’s CEO says

Greek banks will pass the stress tests National Bank’s CEO Leonidas Fragiadakis said on Monday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the signing of a guarantee agreement with European Investment Fund worth 640 million euros to offer loans to Greek SMEs, the Greek banker said Greek bankers will be briefed over the stress test process during their visit to Frankfurt.

Commenting on National Insurance, Fragiadakis said National Bank was closely examining procedures to approach the two Chinese groups that have expressed interest in buying National Insurance, with the aim a swift completion of the procedure with a positive impact for the bank. National Insurance is in a very good condition and this offers flexibility to National Bank, he added.

Fragiadakis said the guarantee agreement signed with European Investment Fund will strengthen National Bank’s contribution in funding SMEs.
