Greek government tabled an amendment to Parliament for the sale of a 5.0 pct of OTE’s shares


The Greek government on Monday tabled an amendment to Parliament envisaging the transfer of a 5.0 pct of OTE’s shares, currently owned by the Greek state, to Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund.

Deutsche Telecom, the main shareholder of Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE) has a first preference right in buying this stake.

The amendment was tabled by Economy Minister George Stathakis, Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos and Infrastrucutre, Tranport and Networks Minister Christos Spirtzis. The amendment is expected to be voted by the assembly on Tuesday and it s part of prior actions agreed for the disbursement of a 2.8 billion euros sub-tranche to Greece.
