Greek industrial import price index up 8.6 pct in March

Greek industrial import price index grew 8.6 pct in March compared with the same month last year, after a 7.8 pct decline recorded in the 2016/2015 period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.

The statistics service, in a monthly report, attributed this development in the so-called imported inflation to an 1.0 pct rise in the import price index from Eurozone states and a 16.7 pct increase in the import price index from countries outside Eurozone.

The index was down 1.1 pct in March from February 2017, after an 1.4 pct increase recorded in the same period last year.
