Greek labour market showed more signs of improvement in April as the hirings/dismissals balance was positive by 92,132 job positions, the highest monthly figure since 2001, according to figures released by “Ergani” IT system on Tuesday.
New hirings totaled 224,181 in April, while dismissals totaled 132,049 in the month (of which 68,670 voluntary). New hirings totaled 215,176 in April 2016 and dismissals amounted to 124,545.
The job flow balance in the January-April period was positive by 125,770 job positions, the highest four-month figure since 2001, while April was the third successive month with positive job flows. Full-time employment accounted for 54.91 pct of total new hirings in April, while part-time hirings accounted for 45.09 pct.
Labour Minister Efi Achtsioglou, commenting on the figures said they confirmed the positive dynamism of the Greek labour market.
