Greek port workers to protest against OLTH’s privatisation

Greek port workers will protest against the privatisation of the Thessaloniki Port Authority (OLTH) outside the Athens Stock Exchange on Thursday.

The Thessaloniki Port Authority will hold an extraordinary general meeting at the Athens Stock Exchange in order to approve the amendment of the company’s statutes and proceed with the election of a transitional board of directors until the conclusion of the tender for the sale of a 67 percent stake in the company.

Workers at the port of Thessaloniki were holding a 24-hour strike on Thursday, while workers at the ports of Piraeus, Heraklion, Volos, Patras, Rafina, Lavrio, Elefsina, Corfu, Igoumenitsa, Kavala, Alexandroupolis and Halkida announced a four-hour work stoppage from 11:00 to 15:00 on the same day.
