Greek retail sales volume grew 2.3 pct in July reflecting increases in six out of eight store categories, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Friday.
The statistics service, in a report, said the volume of sales grew 12.2 pct in furniture-white appliances, 8.8 pct in bookstores, 3.9 pct in clothing/footwear, 3.7 pct in department stores, 3.0 pct in supermarkets and 1.7 pct in tobacco/alcohol, while the volume of sales fell 3.0 pct in fuel and 0.3 pct in pharmaceuticals/cosmetics.
The retail sales volume index (turnover in fixed prices) grew 2.3 pct in July compared with the same month last year, and by 6.3 pct compared with June 2017, while the seasonally-adjusted index grew 1.6 pct on a monthly basis.
The retail sales turnover index (turnover in current prices) grew 1.6 pct in July compared with the same month in 2016, rising 2.9 pct in July from June 2017. The seasonally-adjusted index rose 1.6 pct in July from June.
