Greek stocks ended higher in the Athens Stock Exchange on Monday, led by bank gains and in step with advancing European bourses.
The general index rose 1.06 pct to 858.22 points. Bank shares advanced 2.06 pct, the Large Cap index ended 0.94 pct higher and Mid Cap index inched 0.26 pct higher. Turnover was improved at 92.7 million euros on volume of 80 million shares.
Piraeus Bank outperformed, adding 5.15 pct, followed by gains of 3.05 pct by Eurobank and 2.6pct for National Bank of Greece. OPAP (1.22 pct), OTE (0.92 pct) and Motor Oil (4.1 pct) were also among the winners. Among the day’s losers were Jumbo (-0.13 pct) , Titan (-1.13 pct) and Lamda Development (0.74 pct). Advancers led decliners 74 to 49 with 20 shares unchanged.
