Greek stocks ended flat in the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday unable to push the general index of the market above the 800-point level for one more session. The index eased 0.10 pct to end at 798.41 points, after rising as much as 0.90 pct early in the session.
The Large Cap index rose 0.37 pct and the Mid Cap index fell 1.33 pct. Turnover was a low 56.033 million euros in volume of 69,895,913 shares. Jumbo (2.76 pct), OPAP (2.41 pct) and Coca Cola HBC (1.52 pct) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Viohalco (4.78 pct), Sarantis (3.06 pct) and Hellenic Exchanges (3.03 pct) suffered heavy losses. Among market sectors, Travel (1.80 pct) and Personal Products (1.72 pct) scored big gains, while Industrial Products (3.45 pct) and Financial Services (2.44 pct) ended lower. National Bank and Alpha Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 62 to 47 with another 31 issues unchanged. Pasal (19.67 pct), G.E.Dimitriou (13.33 pct) and Lavipharm (10 pct) were top gainers, while Yalco (19.63 pct), Livanis Publications (19.50 pct) and Progressive (19.29 pct) were top losers.
