Greek stocks ended higher in the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday, pushing the general index of the market above the 740-point level. The index rose 0.74 pct to end at 742,96 points, off the day’s highs of 743.13 points. The Large Cap index rose 0.52 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 2.71 pct higher. Turnover was 35.442 million euros in volume of 11,322,727 shares.
Lamda Development (4.23 pct), Mytilineos (3.89 pct) and Jumbo (2.81 pct) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Terna Energy (1.17 pct), GEK Terna (0.77 pct) and Viohalco (0.66 pct) suffered losses. Trading in National Bank’s shares was temporarily suspended as the bank was completing a reverse split scheme. Among market sectors, Technology (3.30 pct), Industrial Products (2.63 pct) and Personal Products (2.16 pct) scored gains, while Commerce (2.04 pct) and Raw Materials (1.59 pct) suffered losses. Eurobank and MIG were the most heavily traded securities of the day.
Broadly, advancers led decliners by 62 to 35, with another 22 issues unchanged. Intrakat (24.03 pct), Pairis (21.19 pct) and Tzirakian (20 pct) were top gainers, while Lavipharm (13.29 pct), Space Hellas (8.04 pct) and Kordellou Bros (5.85 pct) were top losers.
