Greek stocks ended slightly higher in the Athens Stock Exchange on Friday, helped by mild buying interest in bank shares. The composite index of the market rose 0.54 pct to end at 577.30 points. The Large Cap index edged 0.29 pct higher and the Mid Cap index fell 0.51 pct. Turnover was a low 28.82 million euros.
Mytilineos (6.19 pct), GEK Terna (5.67 pct) and Eurobank (4.13 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains of the day, while Coca Cola HBC (3.48 pct) and Piraeus Port (0.71 pct) suffered losses.
Among market sectors, Banks (2.07 pct) and Large Cap International Activity (1.13 pct) scored big gains, while Commerce (0.18 pct) suffered losses. National Bank, Eurobank, Piraeus Bank and Cyprus Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 60 to 37 with another 21 issues unchanged. Unibios, Sfakianakis and Varvaresos were top gainers, while Medicon, Levenderis and Q&R were top losers.
