Greek stocks lost ground on the Athens Stock Exchange on Thursday, pushed down by the pressure on Coca Cola HBC’s stock, with the market losing 0.35 pct to close at 819.72 points.
The Large Cap index fell 0.75 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 2.12 pct lower. Turnover was a low 45.5 million euros in volume of 61.8 million shares.
Viohalco (2.43 pct), Alpha Bank (1.42 pct) and ADMIE (1.35 pct) were top gainers among blue chip stocks, while EEE (3.81 pct), OTE (2.05 pct) and Folli Follie (1.91 pct) suffered heavy losses. Among market sectors, Banks (1.03 pct) and Industrial Products (0.76 pct) scored gains, while Foods and Beverages (3.81 pct) and Health (3.04 pct) suffered losses.
Alpha Bank and National Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 70 to 50 with another 123 issues unchanged. Kyriakoulis (24.84 pct), Intertek (21.32 pct) and Pairis (16.59 pct) scored big gains, while Leventeris (17.50 pct), MIG (11.66 pct) and Euroconsultants (11.13 pct) were top losers.
