Greek stocks remained under pressure on Thursday

Greek stocks remained under pressure pushing the general index of the market below the 820-point level on Thursday. Selling activity focused on bank shares and the shares of PPC. The general index fell 1.39 pct to end at 818.63 points, with the Large Cap index falling 1.27 pct and the Mid Cap index ending 0.54 pct lower. Turnover was a thin 57.981 million euros in volume of 88,996,367 shares.

Coca Cola HBC (1.59 pct), Sarantis (1.13 pct) and Attica Bank (0.94 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains among blue chip stocks, while PPC (5.38 pct), Piraeus Bank (5.31 pct), Eurobank (4.08 pct) and Alpha Bank (3.67 pct) suffered heavy losses.

Among market sectors, Food (1.58 pct), Health (0.56 pct) and Real Estate (0.33 pct) scored big gains, while Utilities (4.0 pct) and Banks (3.97 pct) suffered losses. Piraeus Bank and National Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 73 to 43 with another 19 issues unchanged. Euromedica (19.05 pct), Pairis (19.02 pct) and Motodynamic (16.09 pct) were top gainers, while ANEK (20 pct), Pegasus (19.53 pct) and Newsphone Hellas (16.67 pct) were top losers.
