Greek technological consumer goods’ market grew 4.4 pct in the third quarter of 2016

The Greek technological consumer goods’ market grew 4.4 pct in the third quarter of 2016, compared with the corresponding period last year, with a turnover of 470 million euros, a survey by GFK TEMAX said on Friday.

The sector with the best performance was telecommunications (TC) which recorded an 11.5 pct increase in turnover, followed by electronic consumers goods (CE) with a 4.7 pct increase, large home appliances (MDA) with an increase of 4.6 pct (sales of washing machines grew significantly), small home appliances grew 7.0 pct, while on the other hand, the IT sector fell 7.9 pct and photographic items fell 3.1 pct in the third quarter.

Wearables grew a spectacular 106.1 pct, office equipment sales grew by 8.8 pct, boosted by sales of printers and multi purpose machines (8.4 pct and 8.9 pct, respectively).
